Call it tradition with a twist, global with a Southern spin, or simply soul food, Ashten's serves up food from the heart - Chef/Owner Ashley Van Camp's heart, that is.  Menu stars such as Cashew Coriander Ahi Tuna and Crispy Roasted Duck with Wasabi Mashed Potato Eggroll are Asian inspired (Van Camp's great-grandfather was Chinese) and her rural North Carolina heritage is exemplified by her preference for locally grown produce, organic chicken and beef from her family's own ranch.  At Ashten's Pub, the food is as friendly and cozy as the atmosphere.  The stunning antique bar, imported from England, is a favorite gathering spot for drinks, tapas and dinner.  Ashten's will happily split checks and menu items and accept all major credit cards.  Private dining room and chef's table available. – Pinehurst Magazine, 2007
